Teal 4x4 — Deep Blue-Green Zellige Tile

A deep, almost blackened blue-green. This is the color at the bottom of a well-worn hammam basin, or a lake at dusk once the sky's gone dark above it — heavy, quiet, more shadow than color. Teal is the darkest tile in our blue-green family, richer than Aqua and steadier than Fiji's variegation, built for anyone wanting real depth from a single glaze rather than pattern or contrast. Up close, each tile drifts from a deep, mossy green to a near blue-black, giving a full Teal wall its sense of depth rather than one flat dark.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, Teal 4×4 is the classic zellige field format — suited to kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fireplace surrounds where a deep, grounding tone is the goal. Nine tiles make up one square foot. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and honed limestone.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone, texture, and edge shape from tile to tile is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. Because these are individual pieces rather than pre-set sheets, installation allows for custom layout and spacing to suit your design. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
