Teal 2x6 — Deep Blue-Green Zellige Tile

A near-black blue-green, deep enough to read as shadow until the light catches it. This is the color of the sea past the reef line — where the water stops being blue-green and starts being something closer to ink. Teal sits at the darkest end of our blue-green family, with none of Fiji's variegation or Aqua's brightness, just a steady, saturated depth that holds a wall together rather than lighting it up. Each tile is shaped and glazed by hand in Fez, in the same ateliers Badia Design has worked with for nearly three decades.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, the 2x6 is zellige in its brick format — built for herringbone, running bond, and vertical stack layouts where the pattern itself becomes part of the design. Twelve tiles make up one square foot. It anchors a kitchen island or bar front with real presence, and it pairs beautifully with brass, walnut, and white plaster.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
