A tapered cone of hand cut iron with a scalloped crown, pierced in horizontal bands of stars separated by curved crescent moon cutouts, so the celestial motif reads more deliberately than a loose scatter of stars alone. The banding gives the piece a structured, almost tiered look running from the wide top down to its point. The metal carries a dark, worn patina.

The alternating star and crescent bands throw a rhythmic pattern once lit, distinct rows of light rather than an even scatter, so the wall behind it reads with more visible structure than the plain star-cone version in the line. At close to a foot and a half tall, it has enough presence to stand alone as a single statement piece in an entryway or over a mantel, and enough repetition in the pattern to also work well in a pair.

Each piece is cut, pierced, and shaped by hand by metalworkers in Morocco, drawing on the same techniques that have produced lanterns and architectural ironwork there for generations. Small variations in the cut work and finish are inherent to the process.
