A shield-shaped panel of hand cut iron, rounded at the top and tapering to a narrow point at the base, pierced with an eight-petaled rosette bordered by hearts, teardrops, and small diamonds. A scalloped crown finishes the top edge, and a single decorative ball drop hangs from the point at the bottom. The metal carries a dark, heavily worked patina, with rust-brown tones surfacing at the edges and around the piercing.

The shield form gives the light a different shape than the cone or cylinder pieces in the line. Because the panel is widest at the top and narrows sharply, the projected pattern concentrates high on the wall and tapers off below, drawing the eye upward. It works well as a single accent piece, flanking an entryway, or paired on either side of a fireplace or headboard.

Each piece is cut, pierced, and shaped by hand by metalworkers in Morocco, drawing on the same techniques that have produced lanterns and architectural ironwork there for generations. Small variations in the cut work and finish are inherent to the process.
