Moroccan Wrought Iron Sconce
Size: 8"W x 12"H x 12"D
SKU#: WL356
A wide, shallow cone of hand cut iron finished with a full scalloped ring at the top, pierced with a scattered field of small triangular cutouts rather than a formal rosette or floral motif. The cone mounts out from the wall on an open curled iron scrollwork arm, and finishes below in a short straight rod rather than a point or drop. The metal carries a rough, heavily rusted patina, more textured and worn than the smoother finishes elsewhere in the line.
The wide cone sits at a distance from the wall on its scrolled bracket rather than lying flush, so light spills outward and downward around the sides of the shade rather than staying contained against the surface. That projected mounting, combined with the scattered triangular piercing, gives this piece a more open, lantern-like presence than the flat panel sconces in the rest of the collection, and it suits a spot where a fixture with real depth and shadow has room to work.
Each piece is cut, pierced, and shaped by hand by metalworkers in Morocco, drawing on the same techniques that have produced lanterns and architectural ironwork there for generations. Small variations in the cut work and finish are inherent to the process.
