Moroccan Wrought Iron Sconce

A tapered cone of hand cut iron finished with a row of raised dome studs along the top edge in place of the usual scalloped crown, giving it a heavier, riveted look up front. The face is pierced with a vertical arrangement of arrow and diamond shapes running down the center, flanked by open curling scrollwork, and finishes at a single dome stud drop at the point. The metal carries a dark brown patina with warmer highlights catching on the raised studs.

The studded top edge sets this piece apart from the rest of the line, trading the softer scalloped or pointed crowns for something more overtly hardware-like. The vertical arrow motif in the piercing draws the eye straight down the center of the cone, giving it a more linear, upright feel than the rosette-based pieces, and it pairs well with more rustic or heavily worked ironwork elsewhere in a room.

Each piece is cut, pierced, and shaped by hand by metalworkers in Morocco, drawing on the same techniques that have produced lanterns and architectural ironwork there for generations. Small variations in the cut work and finish are inherent to the process.
