A Moroccan lidded urn in the Fassi ceramic tradition of Fez, hand-thrown in a slender baluster form and hand-painted in deep cobalt over an ivory glaze ground — the soft crazing and warm patina marking a piece made in the old manner.

The painted decoration is organized into a vertical lattice of pointed ogival panels, each framing its own motif — fine florals, cross-hatched fields, and dotted grounds — running the full length of the tapering body. Hand-worked brass and silvered metal bands the piece in three places: a scalloped collar at the shoulder, a wide belt at the neck, and a ring at the foot, all detailed with beaded wire, embossed lozenges, and applied bosses. The domed lid carries the cobalt work up to a hand-formed, metal-capped finial.

A sculptural statement vessel whose height makes it read as a column of pattern. The dense metalwork gives it real presence on an entry console, mantelpiece, sideboard, or library shelf, or anchoring a floor vignette. Suited to traditional Andalusi, Fassi, Moorish revival, bohemian, and Mediterranean interiors.
