A cream-glazed lidded urn in the Fassi tradition of Fez, hand-thrown and left undecorated so the glaze itself does the work — warm ivory tones, wheel-throwing lines, light speckling, and the soft crazing that come from being made the traditional way. The body swells low and full, with a domed lid and a pair of metal handles at the shoulder, which sets this one apart from the rest of the group.

With no painted pattern, the metalwork is the focus. A wide collar of hand-worked brass and silvered metal wraps the neck — beaded wire, embossed lozenges, and a scalloped apron of plaques dropping over the shoulder — with matching trim on the lid finial and a band at the foot. The two looped handles are wrapped in metal to match.

The neutral glaze and the handled, almost amphora-like shape make this an easy, versatile piece. It reads as calm and organic, and slots just as well into a modern or minimalist room as a traditional, Moorish, or Mediterranean one.
