Sunflower 2x6 — Mustard Gold Zellige Tile

A bold, saturated mustard with real weight behind it. This is the color of turmeric heaped in a spice market stall — dense, sun-warmed gold that holds its intensity rather than fading into pastel. Sunflower sits above our Dijon and Honey glazes, deeper and more assertive than either, gathering toward amber where the glaze runs thick at the edges. Each tile is shaped and glazed by hand in Fez, in the ateliers that have anchored our catalog for twenty-seven years.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, the 2x6 is zellige in its brick format — built for herringbone, running bond, and vertical stack layouts where the pattern itself becomes part of the design. Twelve tiles make up one square foot. It carries a kitchen backsplash or bar front on its own, and it pairs beautifully with deep greens, walnut, and matte black fixtures.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
