Handwoven by Berber women in the Haouz plains south of Marrakech, this one-of-a-kind Boujaad rug layers three distinct registers — a cream field scattered with sage triangles, a banded midsection of charcoal, pink, and olive blocks, and a deep rose lower half punctuated by diamonds and zigzag glyphs. Knotted by hand from natural sheep's wool and finished with hand-tied fringe, the composition reads almost painterly, the kind of free-form abstraction Boujaad weavers are celebrated for.
