Medina (Gris+Blanca) Cement Tile
A soft taupe-gray cross-shaped medallion unfolds against a cream ground, its arms curling into rounded quatrefoil tips at each corner, with a small pointed diamond marking the center. The palette is quiet and tonal, letting the geometry carry the whole design.
Medina is a rotational quarter-design, and the four-tile assembly is where the medallion completes itself. Set corners-in, the four curling arms meet at the center and resolve into one unbroken cross-and-quatrefoil medallion repeating cleanly across the floor. Set corners-out, the arms pull apart toward the tile edges instead, breaking the cross into four separate corner ornaments with open cream ground between them.
Each tile is hand-pressed from pigmented cement by artisans in Fez, following a hydraulic process that has shaped North African floors for well over a century — the pigment set not by fire, but by time and pressure.
Sold by the square foot, with each 8" x 8" tile covering just under half a square foot — about two and a quarter tiles per square foot of coverage. The quantity you select at checkout is square footage, and we'll round the tile count up so your installer never comes up short. The soft, tonal palette suits a bathroom floor, a hallway, or any room where you want pattern without a loud color statement.
Cement tile carries the fingerprints of its making — soft variation in tone and a slightly porous, hand-finished surface that no machine could replicate. We recommend sealing every tile before installation and again after grouting — a small ritual that protects the pigment for decades to come. For larger runs, order ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching.
$15.75 per square foot.
