Dijon 4x4 — Pale Mustard Zellige Tile

A pale, soft mustard-yellow with a muted, matte finish. This is dried mustard seed ground fine, or a linen tablecloth after years of washing — quiet and warm, without any of the boldness of a true bright yellow. Dijon sits at the lightest end of our yellow-gold family, softer than Sunflower and less rich than Honey, landing in a quiet, understated place of its own. Up close, each tile shifts from a pale straw tone to a slightly deeper gold, giving a full Dijon wall gentle warmth without ever reading as loud.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, Dijon 4×4 is the classic zellige field format — suited to kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fireplace surrounds where a soft, warm neutral-adjacent tone is the goal. Nine tiles make up one square foot. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and lime plaster.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone, texture, and edge shape from tile to tile is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. Because these are individual pieces rather than pre-set sheets, installation allows for custom layout and spacing to suit your design. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
