Cerulean 4x4 — Deep Sky Blue Zellige Tile

A saturated, cooler blue, closer to open water seen from a plane window than to the green-black depth of Teal. Cerulean carries none of the softness of Chambray or the weight of Bleu — it's confident and clear, the kind of blue that reads as intentional the moment you walk into a room. Up close, each tile shifts from petrol to true blue across a run, with the faint pooling of glaze along each edge that marks it as hand-finished rather than sprayed.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, Cerulean 4×4 is the classic zellige field format — suited to kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fountain surrounds where a confident, saturated blue is the goal. Nine tiles make up one square foot. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, warm woods, and lime plaster.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone, texture, and edge shape from tile to tile is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. Because these are individual pieces rather than pre-set sheets, installation allows for custom layout and spacing to suit your design. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
