Celeste Cement Tile

A pale, dusty sea-glass blue-green, quiet and slightly weathered in feeling. Cast in cement, the color settles into a soft, matte wash — closer to worn beach glass than a glazed surface, gentle enough to read as neutral from across a room. Each tile is hand-pressed from pigmented cement by artisans in Fez, following a hydraulic process that has shaped North African floors for well over a century — the pigment set not by fire, but by time and pressure.

Sold by the square foot, with each 8" x 8" tile covering just under half a square foot — about two and a quarter tiles per square foot of coverage. The quantity you select at checkout is square footage, and we'll round the tile count up so your installer never comes up short. A solid field of this color works beautifully as a calm floor on its own, or as the quiet ground that lets a bolder patterned tile stand out in a bordered layout.

Cement tile carries the fingerprints of its making — soft variation in tone and a slightly porous, hand-finished surface that no machine could replicate. We recommend sealing every tile before installation and again after grouting — a small ritual that protects the pigment for decades to come. For larger runs, order ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching.
