A wide, shield-shaped panel in aged brass, its top edge cut into a row of small square castellations, like a tiny castle wall, rather than the pointed or scalloped crowns seen elsewhere in the collection. The face is densely pierced in a repeating pattern of interlocking circles and geometric openings, giving it a more architectural, tile-like texture than the floral scrollwork found on the cone pieces. At just an inch and a half deep, it sits nearly flat against the wall, closer to a piece of pierced wall art than a dimensional fixture.
