Caramel 2x6 — Amber Zellige Tile

A warm, amber gold with notes of honey and dark brown running through it. This is leather left in the sun for years, or the last light hitting a tagine as it comes off the fire — rich, food-warm, never cold. Caramel is one of the deepest tones in our palette, closer to aged leather than to a flat orange, and it's a longtime favorite for spaces that want warmth without reaching for red. Up close, each tile shifts from deep amber to a burnished bronze, and the occasional darker tile within a run is a natural note in the glaze, not a mismatch.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, Caramel 2×6 is an elongated brick format — well suited to herringbone and running-bond layouts, and a natural fit for kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fireplace surrounds where a rich, warm tone is the goal. Twelve tiles make up one square foot. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and Venetian plaster.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone, texture, and edge shape from tile to tile is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. Because these are individual pieces rather than pre-set sheets, installation allows for custom layout and spacing to suit your design. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
