Bourbon 4x4 — Deep Amber Brown Zellige Tile

A deep, near-black brown with warm, reddish undertones. This is bourbon held up to a low light — dark enough to read almost black at a glance, but full of warmth and depth once it catches the sun. Bourbon sits among our darkest tones, richer and warmer than Chocolate, browner than Noir's true black. Up close, each tile shifts from a deep mahogany to an almost black at the corners, giving a full Bourbon wall real dimension rather than one flat, dark note.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, Bourbon 4×4 is the classic zellige field format — suited to kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fireplace surrounds where a bold, grounding tone is the goal. Nine tiles make up one square foot. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and honed limestone.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone, texture, and edge shape from tile to tile is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. Because these are individual pieces rather than pre-set sheets, installation allows for custom layout and spacing to suit your design. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
