Bleu 3x8 — Classic Blue Zellige Tile

A true, saturated medium blue with real depth. This is the color of ceramic glazes ground from cobalt — the blue that shows up in Fez pottery and old riad fountains alike, steady and unmistakable rather than washed out. Bleu sits at the center of our blue family, more saturated than Cornflower or Chambray, without tipping into the near-black weight of Midnight Blue. Each tile is shaped and glazed by hand in Fez, in the ateliers Badia Design has worked with for nearly three decades.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, the 3x8 is our largest zellige format — well suited to herringbone, running bond, and stacked layouts where a bigger module reads as intentional rather than busy. Six tiles make up one square foot. It makes a confident statement on a kitchen backsplash, bar front, or powder room wall, and it pairs beautifully with brass, white oak, and crisp white grout.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
