Bleu 2x8 — Classic Blue Cement Tile

A true, saturated medium blue — the kind that shows up in old Fez pottery and never quite leaves the eye afterward. Cast in cement, it loses the glassy sheen of glazed zellige and takes on something flatter and more grounded, closer to indigo dye than glass. It's the blue of a painted door in the medina, sun-faded just enough to feel lived-in rather than new. Each tile is hand-pressed from pigmented cement by artisans in Fez, following a hydraulic process that has shaped North African floors for well over a century — the pigment set not by fire, but by time and pressure.

Sold as individual tiles, the 2x8 format lends itself to running bond, herringbone, or basketweave — geometries that let the tile's quiet texture do the talking. Nine tiles make up one square foot. It holds its own as a floor in an entry or powder room, or climbs a wall as a bold, contained accent.

Cement tile carries the fingerprints of its making — soft variation in tone and a slightly porous, hand-finished surface that no machine could replicate. We recommend sealing every tile before installation and again after grouting — a small ritual that protects the pigment for decades to come. For larger runs, order ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching.
