Blanca 3x8 — Cool White Zellige Tile

The coolest white in our palette, named for Casablanca itself. This is the white of old riad walls at midday — bright without warmth, with the faint chalky variation that only comes from hand-glazed clay. Held next to our other neutrals, Blanca reads distinctly cooler than Ecru or Creme, closer to bone than to cream. Each tile is shaped and glazed by hand in Fez, in the ateliers that have anchored our catalog since Badia Design began.

Sold as individual tiles rather than mounted sheets, the 3x8 is our largest zellige format — well suited to herringbone, running bond, and stacked layouts where a bigger module reads as intentional rather than busy. Six tiles make up one square foot. It works beautifully on larger wall expanses, shower surrounds, and kitchen backsplashes where a smaller format would visually fragment.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
