Blanca 2x8 Cement Tile

Blanca 2x8 — Cool White Cement Tile

The coolest white in our palette, named for the city that inspired it. Cast in cement, that coolness settles into something quieter than glazed zellige ever could be — a chalky, matte white with the soft hush of old plaster, the kind of surface that seems to absorb light rather than throw it back. It's the white of a shaded riad courtyard at noon, cool underfoot even in the heat. Each tile is hand-pressed from pigmented cement by artisans in Fez, following a hydraulic process that has shaped North African floors for well over a century — the pigment set not by fire, but by time and pressure.

Sold as individual tiles, the 2x8 format lends itself to running bond, herringbone, or basketweave — geometries that let the tile's quiet texture do the talking. Nine tiles make up one square foot. Laid underfoot in an entry or wrapped up a powder room wall, Blanca reads less like flooring and more like a finished surface waiting for the room to be built around it.

Cement tile carries the fingerprints of its making — soft variation in tone and a slightly porous, hand-finished surface that no machine could replicate. We recommend sealing every tile before installation and again after grouting — a small ritual that protects the pigment for decades to come. For larger runs, order ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching.

Sold by the square foot. $14 per square foot.
