A monumental antique Moroccan double door in the grand riad tradition, featuring an integrated bab al-khoukha — the smaller pedestrian door set within the larger leaf, a hallmark of traditional Moroccan palace and riad architecture. The great door opened for ceremony, livestock, and goods; the small inner door served daily foot traffic. A door within a door.

The decorative program is composed of four large painted medallion panels, each anchored by a vertical cascade of stylized palmettes, lotus blossoms, and Endless Knot devices in the classical Moroccan palette of rose-terracotta, forest green, ivory, and antique gold. The pedestrian door retains its own miniature painted horseshoe arch and a matching medallion composition. The surface has weathered into a soft, frescoed patina that no reproduction can replicate — the natural wear of generations of use revealing the wood beneath the paint in select areas.
