Adobe Hex Mosaic — Warm Terracotta Zellige Tile

A soft, sun-warmed terracotta that shifts from a pale blush pink to a deeper clay tone piece to piece, closer to sun-baked adobe walls than a uniform ceramic color. The glaze sits matte and quiet across the small hexagons, with the variation coming from tone rather than shine, so a full sheet reads as a warm, textured field rather than a glossy surface. At this scale, that variation becomes the whole point: dozens of small pieces, each slightly different, forming one quietly textured plane. These pieces are shaped and glazed by hand in the same Fez ateliers that have supplied us since the beginning.

The hexagons come mounted on mesh backing for straightforward installation, with each sheet covering one square foot and butting cleanly against the next so the honeycomb repeat carries across a wall or floor without visible seams. It suits shower floors, bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, and powder rooms where the small format can turn a modest surface into something worth looking at, and it pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and lime plaster.

As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike. The natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
